Starbucks Veterans Day Campaign Offers Free Coffee and a $200K Donation

by Jessica

In celebration of Veterans Day, Starbucks is offering U.S. military veterans a free tall 12-ounce brewed coffee and donating $200,000 to two prominent veterans’ organizations: the Elizabeth Dole Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project.

The coffee chain, which operates globally, also revealed plans to expand its Military Family Stores (MFS) to 250 locations by 2025. These stores are situated near major military bases and provide vital support to military families through partnerships with Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs).

Starbucks’ commitment to supporting military communities goes beyond this Veterans Day campaign. The company partners with several veteran-focused organizations to provide resources and opportunities for veterans and their families. Notable partnerships include:

Blue Star Families: Starbucks has connected with over 26,000 military families, providing programs to tackle issues like isolation and food insecurity.

Elizabeth Dole Foundation: This collaboration focuses on offering education and support to military caregivers.

Operation Gratitude: Through care package assemblies and letter-writing campaigns, Starbucks has helped more than 625,000 individuals.

The Mission Continues: This partnership offers leadership and skill-building opportunities to veterans, impacting over 16,000 individuals.

Travis Manion Foundation: Starbucks helps provide community service and leadership development to veterans and the families of fallen soldiers.

Wounded Warrior Project: Starbucks continues to raise awareness and fund programs aimed at supporting veterans.

Since 2013, Starbucks has hired more than 40,000 military veterans and spouses, further demonstrating its commitment to the military community.

This Veterans Day campaign is part of Starbucks’ broader mission to foster human connection through every cup of coffee and community initiative. “With every cup, with every conversation, with every community — we nurture the limitless possibilities of human connection,” the company states.

In related news, a recent study by DesignRush ranked Hawaii as the top U.S. state for veteran financial stability, thanks to its strong job market, high income opportunities, and low unemployment rates.
