In celebration of Veterans Day, all Wawa locations are offering free hot coffee of any size to veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. No military ID is required to claim the offer.
Chris Gheysens, CEO of Wawa, explained, “It’s our annual tradition to salute service members on Veterans Day with a hot cup of coffee to thank them for everything they do to serve our communities.”
Additionally, Wawa has teamed up with the United Service Organizations (USO) of Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey to create “Operation Taste of Home” care packages. Over 10,000 care packages, assembled by Wawa employees and USO volunteers, were sent to military personnel currently deployed.
As part of its commitment to supporting military families, The Wawa Foundation also presented a check for $1,012,305.05 to the USO. This donation came from funds raised through in-store coin and scan campaigns held during the summer of 2024. These funds will support military programs through local USO chapters. Since 2012, The Wawa Foundation has contributed over $13 million to the USO.
Wawa has long supported the military community by sending coffee and care packages to troops overseas. “Partnering with the USO to formally send care packages to deployed military members is just one of the many ways Wawa shows support for the men and women who serve our country,” said a Wawa spokesperson.
Other businesses are also honoring veterans today. Sheetz is offering free half-sized turkey subs with a regular fountain drink and free car washes for veterans with a military ID or proof of service. The company is also encouraging customers to donate loyalty points through its app to the USO, with 200 points equaling $1.
Pilot is providing a free meal worth up to $12 for military service members and their families. The company has also donated $100,000 to the Call of Duty Endowment to support veterans, and is running a round-up campaign through the end of the month to raise additional funds.
TravelCenters of America is offering complimentary meals at participating quick-service and full-service restaurants at its TA, Petro, and TA Express locations nationwide.
Maverik and Kum & Go are providing free coffee for veterans today. Stewart’s Shops is offering a 99¢ single-scoop cone to all customers in honor of the holiday.
