Duck Donuts, the popular U.S.-based doughnut and coffee chain, has officially opened its first store in the Bahamas. The new outlet, located in Nassau, is the first of three planned locations on the Caribbean island.
The 1,400-square-foot store incorporates a counter-service model and features digital ordering stations, along with designated areas for mobile and third-party pickup. This design aligns with Duck Donuts’ emphasis on efficient service and convenience.
This marks the chain’s second foray into the Caribbean market, following its debut in Curaçao in October 2023.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the Duck Donuts family and expand our presence in the Caribbean region. We are excited for future development in tourist areas as well to serve smiles and warm, delicious donuts across the island,” said franchisee Mercianna Moxey.
Duck Donuts, founded in 2007, now operates over 150 locations across 26 U.S. states. The Pennsylvania-based chain first announced its plans to enter the Bahamian market in April 2023 as part of a broader international expansion strategy. This initiative also included plans to launch in Australia, the United Kingdom, and Iraq.
The Nassau opening follows Duck Donuts’ recent entry into the Philippines in July 2024, adding to its growing list of international markets. In 2023, the brand expanded into Egypt, Curaçao, Qatar, and Thailand. With the addition of the Bahamas, Duck Donuts now operates in eight international markets.
This latest launch reflects the company’s commitment to global growth and its ability to bring its signature offerings to new audiences around the world.
