NBA star Jimmy Butler has officially launched his first BigFace Coffee store in Miami’s Design District, drawing considerable attention and excitement.
Butler’s love for coffee began during the NBA’s 2020 season when he found himself in an Orlando hotel room with limited coffee options. In an effort to satisfy his caffeine cravings, Butler began grinding his own beans. His passion for coffee quickly grew, leading him to sell cups for $20 each. At the time, he joked that he hoped players would pay with $100 bills, which he referred to as “BigFaces,” though he admitted the idea never quite caught on.
In 2021, Butler expanded his coffee hobby into a business, launching BigFace Coffee as an online store. He later held pop-up events with a coffee truck before deciding to open a brick-and-mortar location.
The grand opening of the Miami store was a significant moment for Butler, who described the experience as “really surreal.” On Thursday night, ahead of the official opening, he celebrated at the high-end coffee shop with a star-studded group of friends, including DJ Khaled and Carmelo Anthony.
