Clutch Coffee is more than just a place for your daily caffeine fix—it’s a business focused on giving back to the community.
The coffee shop opens at 5 a.m., and by then, regular customers are already lining up. “Two cups of coffee, 16 Splendas, one hot chocolate, a pup cup, and hot water with 15 sugars,” ordered Angela Peach for herself and her friends.
A portion of Peach’s order, along with the rest of the day’s sales, will be donated to Harvest Hope Food Bank.
Peach, who is homeless, shared her thoughts: “I like that. Because see, I’m homeless. And so are my friends. We got a lot of homeless people out here who need the food pantry.”
Clutch Coffee has built a reputation for helping both its customers and its community. In a recent act of generosity, the shop donated all of one day’s proceeds to support recovery efforts in Western North Carolina.
Jacob Mintz, the regional manager, expressed his pride in the company’s community efforts: “It’s nice, like I said, just being able to give back.”
