Euphoria Coffee owner Nick Yost is passionate about his craft. Whether it’s growing, roasting, grinding, or brewing, Yost has a deep knowledge of every aspect of coffee. But despite his expertise, he and his business partner, Trevin Jensen, aim to offer something more than just great coffee to their customers.
“Our real mission is to raise consumer awareness about quality coffee,” Yost explained. “We hold ourselves to a higher standard than most customers would expect. I’m always striving for excellence, and for me, the best way to improve coffee quality is by connecting the producer and the consumer.”
Euphoria Coffee recently opened a new café at 110 Maryville St. in Calmar on Nov. 29. While many small-town cafes claim to serve the best coffee, Yost believes Euphoria stands out because of its strong relationships with coffee producers.
“It’s one thing to say my coffee is good, but it’s another to say we work closely with all our farmers to create a superior product,” Yost said. “Those relationships are far more valuable than focusing on certifications or fair trade labels. Our commitment to quality is unmatched.”
In addition to a variety of coffee drinks, the new café offers acai bowls, parfaits, frozen yogurt from Country View Dairy, and breakfast burritos. Yost prides himself on sourcing ingredients from local producers. The granola in the parfaits comes from 275th Bakery in Clermont, honey is sourced from Fassbinder Apiaries in Elgin, maple syrup from Turkey River Farm near Elkader, and yogurt, frozen yogurt, and milk are all from Country View Dairy in Hawkeye.
