Ninetails Coffee Bar, a Japanese-inspired café known for its unique offerings, has recently closed one of its two Toronto locations. The café, which draws its name from the kyubi no kitsune, a nine-tailed fox from Japanese folklore symbolizing wisdom and magic, has been a favorite for fans of both traditional and creative beverages.
Ninetails served a variety of drinks, including espresso-based beverages, matcha and hojicha lattes, yuzu lemonade, and dirty chai. Alongside drinks, the café offered delicious fare such as croissant sandwiches and Basque cheesecake.
In a heartfelt social media post, the café announced the closure of its Spadina location, which had been a staple for many locals. “It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of our Spadina location,” the post read. “While everything has gone well and we’ve loved every moment serving you, the time has come for us to close this chapter.”
The announcement garnered over 350 likes and around 40 comments from disappointed customers who expressed their sadness over the closure and praised the Spadina location for its charm. However, the Ninetails location at 651 Bloor St. W. will remain open.
