The first Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) Specialty Coffee Auction made history with record-breaking bids from around the world. The event featured 16 lots from 11 producers across nine countries, showcasing six different coffee varieties. Geisha coffee took center stage, with 11 lots being sold, representing some of the world’s top coffee producers. Bidders participated both in-person and online through a digital platform.
Finca Sophia from Panama achieved the highest sale at US$10,020 per kilogram. A Kona SL 34 lot from Hawaii also set a new American record, selling for US$910 per kilogram—eight times the previous record for Kona coffee. In addition, La Llama beans from Los Rodriguez became the most expensive coffee from Bolivia, fetching US$350 per kilogram. The Ethiopian Gesha Village Oma Natural also set a record, with a sale price of US$1,100 per kilogram.
