As winter comes to a close, many are eagerly awaiting the start of sakura season. While we can’t rush the blooming of cherry blossoms, Japan’s cafes are quick to bring spring flavors to their menus, and Doutor is no exception.
Though Doutor is usually a more low-key coffeehouse chain in Japan, it’s grabbing attention this month with its Sakura Fair lineup, available now.
The highlight is the Sakura Scent Caffe Latte, which can be served hot or iced and starts at 530 yen for a small. This drink combines espresso with sakura milk—made from condensed milk and sakura sauce—creating a delicate sweetness that balances the usual coffee bitterness. For an added spring touch, sakura powder is sprinkled on top of the whipped cream, adding both flavor and a splash of color.
