Helm Coffee Shop in Indianapolis is celebrating a major milestone as its lead roaster, Justin Bull, has been named the 2025 U.S. Brewers Cup champion.
Bull’s victory in the prestigious competition, which highlights excellence in filter coffee brewing, secures him a spot at the World Brewers Cup in Jakarta, Indonesia, this May.
“It’s all about excellence in coffee and pushing the boundaries of what we have come to expect in a cup of coffee,” Bull said, sharing his passion for the craft.
The U.S. Brewers Cup is part of the broader U.S. Coffee Championships, which also includes competitions for baristas specializing in espresso. However, Bull remains dedicated to filter coffee, calling it his “first love.”
Helm Coffee Shop, located in the Garfield Park neighborhood, was founded by Jillian Potter and has been serving the community for two and a half years. The shop is known for its commitment to sourcing and roasting high-quality coffee, creating a unique experience for its customers.
With this latest achievement, Bull and Helm Coffee Shop are making their mark on the specialty coffee world.
