Jo’s Coffee is preparing to open a new café in the West Campus area near the University of Texas at Austin, according to recently filed permits with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The new shop will be located at 701 W. 24th St., Ste. A in Austin, a site also home to Union on 24th, a student apartment complex in the UT West Campus neighborhood.
The 1,600-square-foot space will undergo new construction, with an estimated cost of $450,000. Construction is slated to begin on April 1, with a completion date set for July 15, based on permit documents.
This marks the latest expansion for the popular Austin-based coffee brand, which currently has seven locations in Austin. Jo’s also celebrated the opening of its first Houston location in February, situated in the Heights neighborhood.
Founded in 1999, Jo’s Coffee offers a menu of coffee, pastries, sandwiches, and breakfast tacos. The brand is widely recognized for its iconic “I love you so much” mural at its South Congress storefront, which has become a popular tourist destination.
