Jo’s Coffee is preparing to open a new location in Austin’s West Campus area, close to the University of Texas at Austin, according to new permits filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The new shop will be located at 701 W. 24th St., Ste. A, within the Union on 24th student apartment complex. The project, registered on March 5, details a 1,600-square-foot construction with an estimated cost of $450,000. Construction is slated to begin on April 1, with completion expected by July 15.
This marks the latest step in Jo’s Coffee’s ongoing expansion. The Austin-based brand currently operates seven locations in the city and opened its first Houston shop in the Heights neighborhood in February.
Founded in 1999, Jo’s Coffee is known for its coffee, pastries, sandwiches, and breakfast tacos. Its South Congress location is particularly popular among tourists, thanks to the iconic “I love you so much” mural painted on its wall.
Jo’s Coffee is owned by Bunkhouse Group, which was acquired by Hyatt Hotels Corp. in a $335 million deal in October 2024, further supporting the coffee shop’s continued growth.
