by Jessica

The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has announced that the World of Coffee event will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, for the first time in June 2025. This marks the third World of Coffee event scheduled for 2025, following previous announcements of events in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Jakarta, Indonesia. Additionally, the 2025 World Barista Championship will take place in Milan, Italy, as part of HostMilano, adding to the extensive international travel for coffee enthusiasts next year. Plans are also in place for the 2026 World of Coffee in Panama.

Scheduled to take place at the Palexpo Exhibition and Convention Center from Thursday, June 26th to Saturday, June 28th, the Geneva event promises to be a major highlight in the coffee calendar. The Palexpo is renowned as one of Switzerland’s largest international conference and exhibition centers, making it an ideal venue for such a significant gathering.

Geneva’s selection as the host city is fitting given its scenic beauty and pivotal role in global coffee trading. “Geneva is the perfect host for World of Coffee 2025, offering a vibrant, forward-thinking environment,” said Yannis Apostolopoulos, CEO of the Specialty Coffee Association. He emphasized Switzerland’s historical and ongoing connection with coffee, dating back to the grand European coffee houses of the 17th century and continuing through its modern food, beverage, hospitality, and technology industries that influence the coffee value chain. Apostolopoulos highlighted Geneva’s reputation for innovation and global connectivity, which will provide a strategic platform for advancing the specialty coffee industry.
