Armani/Caffe Opens in Tokyo, Celebrating Japanese Design and Cuisine

The premium café concept Armani/Caffe has officially launched in Japan, situated in the bustling Omotesando shopping district of Tokyo.

In a press release, Giorgio Armani highlighted the café’s design, which features traditional Japanese lanterns and a façade adorned with platinum-colored horizontal strips and luminous circles, symbolizing the sun and reflecting the brand’s strong ties to Japanese culture.

Armani/Caffe offers a premium coffee selection, with hot or iced Americanos priced at ¥1,100 ($7.67) and espressos and cappuccinos at ¥1,300 ($9.06). The menu also includes a variety of classic Italian lunch dishes and desserts.

Since its inception in 2013, Armani/Caffe has become a key part of Giorgio Armani’s expanding hospitality division, which also encompasses the Armani/Ristorante, Armani/Lounge, and Armani/Deli concepts. The first Armani/Caffe was opened in Cannes, France, and the brand has since expanded to locations in Qatar, the UAE, the U.S., and most recently, India.

Armani/Caffe joins several other international coffee brands that have recently entered the Japanese market, including China’s Cotti Coffee, UK-based Costa Coffee, South Korea’s Hollys, and Indian specialty coffee group Blue Tokai.

According to the World Coffee Portal’s Project Café East Asia 2024 report, the Japanese branded coffee shop market, currently home to 7,800 stores, is projected to grow to 8,575 outlets by November 2028, with a compound annual growth rate of 1.9%.
