Lazy Daisy Coffee Co., a locally owned coffee shop, is gearing up to open its doors at 4615 Forest Drive within the Cardinal Crossing mixed-use development in Forest Acres. According to a recent news release, construction is scheduled to commence this fall, with the grand opening anticipated in early 2025.
A Diverse Menu Awaits Customers
The new establishment will offer a wide range of handcrafted coffee beverages, including espresso drinks, cold brews, and specialty lattes. In addition to coffee, Lazy Daisy will feature an assortment of teas and freshly baked goods. Spanning nearly 1,400 square feet, the shop will provide indoor seating alongside a pet-friendly outdoor patio.
Cardinal Crossing: A Growing Hub
Cardinal Crossing has emerged as a bustling commercial center in Forest Acres, hosting various restaurants and businesses such as Yoga Six, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar, and Clean Juice. Additionally, a new location for the Fresh Mex restaurant concept Surcheros is also in development at the site. The area includes a 256-unit apartment complex known as The Cardinal.
Prime Location with High Traffic
Situated in a high-traffic zone, over 27,000 vehicles traverse Forest Drive daily, as reported by the South Carolina Department of Transportation. The announcement of Lazy Daisy Coffee Co. adds to the recent surge in restaurant developments in Forest Acres. Notably, No Name Deli, a beloved spot in Columbia’s Elmwood Avenue area, opened a second location this week at 4712-A Forest Drive. Furthermore, Groucho’s Deli has announced plans to reopen its restaurant at 4717 Forest Drive in January.
