Nestlé’s Board of Directors has approved significant changes to the company’s organizational structure and Executive Board, set to take effect on January 1, 2025.
In a strategic move, Zone Latin America (LATAM) and Zone North America (NA) will merge to create Zone Americas (AMS), which will be led by Steve Presley. Presley will relocate to Nestlé’s headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland, to oversee this new zone.
Additionally, the Zone Greater China Region (GCR) will be integrated into Zone Asia, Oceania, and Africa (AOA), under the direction of Remy Ejel. David Zhang will step down from the Executive Board but will continue to serve as Chairman and CEO of the Greater China Region.
Zone Europe (EUR) will remain unchanged, continuing under the leadership of Guillaume Le Cunff.
Laurent Freixe, CEO of Nestlé, emphasized that the streamlined Executive Board structure will foster closer collaboration among the leadership team at headquarters. “This will increase simplicity, expedite decision-making, and enhance momentum behind global initiatives,” Freixe stated.
In other changes, Bernard Meunier has announced his intention to step down from the Executive Board on March 31, 2025. He will shift his focus to leading strategic projects for the Group. David Rennie, currently Head of Nestlé Coffee Brands, will take over Meunier’s responsibilities as the Head of Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and Marketing and Sales.
Nestlé Coffee Brands, excluding Nespresso, will be incorporated into the SBU organization. Nespresso, now under the leadership of Philipp Navratil, will join the Executive Board and report directly to the Nestlé CEO.
Anna Mohl will continue to lead Nestlé Health Science.
Beginning in 2025, Nestlé’s reporting structure will consist of five segments: Zone AMS, Zone AOA, Zone EUR, Nestlé Health Science, and Nespresso. The company will also maintain voluntary quarterly sales performance reporting for North America and Latin America within Zone AMS, as well as for Greater China within Zone AOA.
Béatrice Guillaume-Grabisch, who previously headed Human Resources and Business Services, has stepped down, and her area will be restructured into its respective functions.
Anna Lenz, the current Country Manager for Nestlé Portugal, will take over Human Resources and join the Executive Board.
Chris Wright, Chief Information Officer responsible for information technology and digitalization, will now report directly to the Nestlé CEO but will not hold a position on the Executive Board.
Hans-Ulrich Mayer will continue to manage Business Services, reporting to CFO Anna Manz.
Antonia Wanner, who leads the Sustainability Unit, will also report directly to the Nestlé CEO without being part of the Executive Board.
