Raising a Cup: Monomyth Coffee Celebrates Five Years of Local Love

by Jessica

Since opening its doors in 2019, Monomyth Coffee has become a cherished part of the Lubbock community, serving patrons one cup at a time. Founded by brothers Trenton and Randall Jackson, the coffee shop is located in a nearly century-old building at the intersection of Avenue U and Broadway, a space they discovered through family connections.

Trenton Jackson expressed gratitude for the recognition the establishment has received, stating, “It’s a testament to the great work that our team is doing here and the values we have as a company and the impact we try to make on guests.” He credited the shop’s success to the unwavering support from the local community.

“All the really great businesses and other people doing really great things in this town make it humbling to see the support from day one,” Trenton added. “To be nominated and cheered on from the very beginning was truly humbling, and we’re proud to represent Lubbock.”

Among the loyal customers is Joshua Grimes, a sophomore at Texas Tech University, who describes Monomyth as his favorite spot. “I came here today because it’s kind of a laid-back place and a good environment to dive into my Bible and get my homework done,” Grimes said. “The staff is super nice, and the whole vibe is amazing.”

Randall Jackson believes Lubbock has a bright future and encourages fellow entrepreneurs to unleash their creativity. “Lubbock really is a special place,” he remarked. “There are several creatives in Lubbock trying to do something really cool, and I would just encourage people to keep going.”

As Monomyth Coffee marks its five-year milestone, the Jackson brothers extend their gratitude to the city of Lubbock. “Just a huge thanks to everybody who has supported us over the last five years, and a hello to those who haven’t heard of us. We would love to see them around,” Randall concluded.
