De Clieu Coffee & Sandwiches, a beloved café in Old Town Fairfax known for its artisanal espresso drinks, pastries, and sandwiches, is expanding its presence in Northern Virginia. The café has recently opened a second location in Fairfax’s Legato area and has plans to open a third in Reston by January 2025.
The new café at 11923 Lee Hwy. in Fairfax is currently in its soft opening phase, with a grand opening scheduled tentatively for November 21, according to Jade Lee, a manager of the original location. While the exact grand opening date is yet to be confirmed, the second location promises many of the same fan-favorite offerings, including seasonal specialty drinks like the Maple Leaf Latte, as well as breakfast and lunch options.
Despite minor menu variations, the new shop closely mirrors the original’s offerings. Lee emphasized that although the new location is run by different owners, the original team ensures consistency in syrups, recipes, and quality standards.
Looking ahead, De Clieu has plans to continue its expansion, with a third location slated for Reston. Set to open in January 2025, the new café will be located at 2235 Soapstone Dr. The expansion plans, which were put on hold during the height of the pandemic, have been long-awaited.
“We’ve wanted to expand for quite a long time. Our customers have encouraged us, and the community’s support has been incredible,” Lee said. “Northern Virginia is our home, and we’re proud of our recipes. We can’t wait to bring De Clieu to more of our neighbors.”
The original location at 10389 Main St. in Fairfax continues to serve loyal customers, with both new locations poised to bring the De Clieu experience to even more residents across the region.
