CLAYTON, Mo. — A unique coffee bar experience is coming to downtown Clayton as HiFi by Upshot Coffee prepares to open on December 1 at 8401 Maryland Avenue. The new establishment will feature a Japanese-inspired concept, combining specialty coffee with a distinct ambiance.
According to a company release, HiFi will provide “specialty coffee drinks and a thoughtfully curated breakfast and lunch menu” within a space inspired by Japanese record bars and equipped with a premium hi-fi sound system.
“Our goal with Upshot and HiFi is to create memorable and inviting spaces for everyone,” said Eric Peters, an Upshot Coffee partner alongside Conor Vanbuskirk. “We aim to provide high-quality products in an equally high-quality environment. What sets us apart in the St. Louis market is our fresh perspective on what a coffee shop can be. It doesn’t have to be a co-working space; it can be a lively, social spot to connect, converse, and build community.”
HiFi’s coffee program will highlight a variety of carefully sourced and roasted specialty coffees. Offerings include Chimera, the house espresso, along with a rotating selection of single-origin espresso and filter coffee options.
The menu, crafted by Chef Travis Garcia of Coffee Commissary in Los Angeles, will feature breakfast and lunch items such as tartines, breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and fresh deli sandwiches.
This new location in Clayton joins Upshot Coffee’s existing shops in Cottleville and St. Charles, further expanding the brand’s presence in the region.
