LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Henderson-based coffee shop owner has achieved a significant milestone with the launch of his cold brew products at a major grocery chain. Kyle Porterfield, the owner of Dark Moon Roasters, announced on Thursday that two of their cold brew labels—Lunar Blend and Sumatra Blend—will now be available on shelves at Sprouts Farmers Market.
“This is a huge milestone for us,” Porterfield said. “We’ve been in Whole Foods for over two years with our coffee bags and cold brew products. Now, being in Sprouts really expands our reach and significantly increases our store presence.”
Sprouts Farmers Market, which operates 13 locations in the Las Vegas valley, is a major retail partner for Dark Moon Roasters. Porterfield expressed confidence that their current operations, based out of their single store location, are capable of meeting the increased demand from the new retail opportunity.
“We partner with two local businesses in town for distribution—one of them primarily focuses on our cold brew drinks,” Porterfield explained. “It’s all about finding the right fit. We don’t want to rush into anything too quickly.”
Since its opening in 2019, Dark Moon Roasters has made significant strides, with its products now available on tap at several bars in Las Vegas and Henderson, including at the Plaza Hotel.
Porterfield emphasized that every move is calculated to ensure long-term success for the business. “We’re always thinking strategically about what makes sense for us and for the valley,” he said.
