WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Blended Joe Coffee, known for its small-batch roasted coffees, is opening a new location in Washington Township, bringing a fresh coffee experience and unique food offerings to the area. Joe Iaconelli, the founder of Blended Joe, shared the exciting news on Facebook, announcing plans to open the coffee shop in the strip of stores next to PJ Whelihan’s and Jefferson Hospital, at the intersection of Egg Harbor Road and Hurffville-Cross Keys Roads.
The new shop will take over the former G&M Deli unit, which became available about 18 months ago. Blended Joe, established in 2018 as a coffee roaster and online distributor, is known for its specialty-grade arabica coffee beans, roasted in small batches for superior quality and consistency. After the success of their coffee bar inside Mantua Township’s Pizza Tower Restaurant earlier this year, the company decided to expand into a standalone retail location in Washington Township.
To focus on refining the business model, Joe and his team are closing the Mantua location on December 20th and will shift their attention to Washington Township, where they plan to open additional coffee shops across South Jersey.
“We’ve mastered the coffee side of the business, and we’re excited to introduce a full coffee shop experience, including food,” Joe explained. The new Washington Township location will feature in-house baked goods such as biscuits with gravy, cornbread, and even homemade grits, in addition to traditional breakfast items. The goal is to offer a unique, high-quality food experience that pairs perfectly with their fresh-roasted coffees.
Blended Joe will also introduce a DIY coffee-urn option for those on the go. Customers will be able to grab a quick, fresh cup of coffee and pay without having to wait for a full custom order. This efficient approach is part of the business’s broader plan to create a flexible model that can be replicated at future locations.
While the coffee shop’s build-out is expected to begin after the holidays, Joe doesn’t anticipate major construction. The main update will be the development of a larger “Coffee Bar” counter designed with future expansion in mind.
What sets Blended Joe apart from other coffee shops is their approach to flavored coffee. Instead of adding sweetened syrups after brewing, Blended Joe infuses flavor directly into the beans during roasting. This process ensures that the flavor is brewed into the coffee itself, allowing customers to add as much or as little sugar as they prefer.
Blended Joe offers an extensive selection of nearly four dozen coffee varieties, including unique flavors like orange creamsicle, banana nut bread, wild blueberry, chocolate raspberry, cinnamon bun, and apple pie. The company sources its beans from high-quality producers, roasting, grinding, and packaging all coffee at their Cinnaminson headquarters.
Joe credits the success and future growth of Blended Joe to his dedicated team, including long-time partner Rachel Brown, who manages the company’s technology infrastructure, and recent addition Eric Powell Jr.
Blended Joe’s new Washington Township location is poised to become a local favorite, offering a full-service coffee shop experience that combines exceptional coffee, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. The team is excited to bring this new venture to the community and to expand their reach across South Jersey in the years to come.
