A Scottish dairy is offering the UK’s most expensive cup of coffee, priced at GBP272 (USD344) for a flat white. However, this hefty price tag comes with a twist – buyers receive a share in the farm.
Mossgiel Organic Dairy is using this high-priced coffee to promote its crowdfunding campaign, aimed at expanding its sustainable operation and increasing milk production.
Investors who purchase 34 shares in the farm will receive a certificate for a flat white, which can be redeemed starting this weekend at 13 coffee shops across Scotland that use Mossgiel’s milk.
Owner Bryce Cunningham explains that while the coffee costs nearly 80 times the average price of a flat white in the UK, it offers more than just a caffeine fix. “How much is the future of farming worth?” he said. “We know it sounds crazy, but when you break it down, it’s a pretty good deal.”
The price of the Mossgiel flat white surpasses the previous record of GBP265 set by Shot London in Mayfair and Marylebone, which was the most expensive coffee in the UK until now.
