Udaan Yatri Cafe to Offer Affordable Snacks and Drinks at Airports

by Jessica

It’s common for travelers to feel hungry or thirsty while waiting for their flight at the airport, but many are shocked by the high prices at airport food counters. Items can cost up to 10 times more than they do outside. For many, especially those from middle-class families, this often means suppressing their cravings until their flight departs.

However, there’s good news for budget-conscious travelers. The Union Aviation Ministry has announced the launch of Udaan Yatri Cafe at airports across India, where snacks and drinks will be available at reasonable prices.

The first Udaan Yatri Cafe will open at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport as part of a pilot project. If successful, the initiative will be expanded to other airports under the Airport Authority of India. The announcement was made during a ceremony celebrating Kolkata Airport’s 100th anniversary, where Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu shared details of the upcoming initiative. The goal is to improve the travel experience for air passengers by providing affordable food and beverages.
