In the latest weekly auction at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE), sixteen buyers purchased Kenyan coffee worth a total of Sh343.3 million. The sale involved 10,737 bags of coffee.
This follows last week’s auction, where farmers earned Sh882.2 million from the sale of 25,748 bags of coffee.
Among the top performers, Mukangu factory, affiliated with Kibirigwi society in Kirinyaga County, achieved the highest price at the auction. The premier grade AA coffee sold for Sh36,879.5 per bag. The buyer, Taylor Winch, purchased the coffee through Alliance Berries Limited.
Other notable prices included Ragati, which sold for Sh36,751 per bag, and Mukinduri, which fetched Sh35,723 per bag. Both coffees were marketed by Alliance Berries Limited.
Ibero Kenya, a leading buyer, purchased 3,584 bags of coffee for Sh114.9 million, according to NCE’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Lisper Ndung’u.
