The NESCAFÉ Plan has been honored with the prestigious “Award of the Year” at the Human Act Prize 2024, a fitting recognition for more than ten years of quiet yet impactful dedication.
The “Award of the Year” category recognizes outstanding contributions to society, and NESCAFÉ Plan emerged victorious, surpassing hundreds of other notable projects. This achievement highlights the program’s deep humanistic value and far-reaching influence. By focusing on people and placing farmers at the center of its efforts, the program has made a lasting positive impact. Farmers are not only producers but active agents of change, managing resources and making informed farming decisions. The program fosters a sense of autonomy, empowering farmers and helping them realize their critical role in the global value chain.
The shift toward regenerative coffee farming under the NESCAFÉ Plan has not only improved the livelihoods and income of 21,000 farming households but has also contributed to building a more sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural system.
A key factor behind the success of the NESCAFÉ Plan is the unwavering support of Nestlé Vietnam’s agricultural staff. These dedicated professionals have stood by farmers since the program’s early days, offering guidance and support.
The program’s success is the result of more than a decade of close collaboration. Agricultural officers have consistently provided technical guidance, trained farmers in sustainable farming practices, introduced digital management tools, and helped farmers master technology, ultimately improving both coffee productivity and quality.
