Starbucks has announced plans to open its new flagship store in Ho Chi Minh City at the iconic Bitexco Financial Tower. The American coffee chain confirmed on Thursday that this premium outlet, known as Starbucks Reserve, will be located in the bustling District 1, a popular area for tourists.
The new store is expected to launch in the first half of next year. It will occupy a 256-square-meter space on the ground floor, previously occupied by the fashion retailer Adidas, which vacated the location earlier this week.
Monthly rent for the new store is estimated at VND980 million (approximately $39,000), which is double the rent Starbucks paid for its former Reserve location on Han Thuyen Street. Although the new site is only slightly larger than the previous one, sources indicate that significant renovation costs were anticipated for the older store due to its outdated condition.
The Bitexco location offers a more spacious and inviting atmosphere, likely to attract a diverse clientele visiting for work, dining, or entertainment. The Starbucks Reserve program, which began in 2010, features exclusive drinks not available at regular stores. Currently, there are only a few Reserve stores worldwide, with locations in cities like Shanghai, Tokyo, and Milan. In Vietnam, the only existing Reserve store is in downtown Hanoi, where Starbucks also plans to open another outlet next year.
Since entering Vietnam 11 years ago, Starbucks has expanded to 125 locations across the country.
