Frannie’s Coffee, a beloved spot in Princeton, has opened a second location in Kelowna, bringing its warm and welcoming atmosphere to a new community. Sean McHaffie, the owner of Frannie’s, is passionate about creating cozy coffee corners where people can feel at home. He and his wife Heather decided to expand their business after receiving positive feedback, especially from tourists who visit Princeton in the summer.
“We live in Kelowna but visit Princeton often,” McHaffie said. “The opportunity to open a second location was something I had been thinking about for a while.”
Their Kelowna shop mirrors the original location in Princeton, and McHaffie plans to keep that community feel at both spots. “Many new cafés, especially chain ones, can feel cold and minimalist. We want our shops to be warm, inviting places where you can meet for business or hang out with friends, not just grab coffee and leave,” he explained.
McHaffie takes pride in making Frannie‘s a space where customers feel welcome to stay and enjoy their time. “We want to be known for creating that kind of atmosphere,” he said.
Frannie‘s is also involved in supporting the local community. The Princeton location has seen an increase in visitors thanks to items being sold for charity. Local figure “Gypsy” David John Buskell has donated items to Frannie‘s, helping raise funds for the Family Services Society.
“Gypsy has helped us a lot,” McHaffie said. “We want to give back to the community, not just be a place for people to grab coffee.”
Chocolate Festival from January 17 to February 16. This will be the first year Frannie‘s joins the festival, and McHaffie is eager to showcase their popular European hot chocolate.
“We’re definitely looking forward to participating,” he said. “It’s something we’re really excited about.”
