Rijal Almaa Coffee Cooperative Promotes Sustainable Farming Aligned

by Jessica

Ali Abdullah Sayyad, CEO of the Rijal Almaa Coffee Cooperative Association, recently highlighted the significant strides the region has made in revitalizing its coffee farms. In recent years, local residents have modernized many old farms by incorporating advanced cultivation techniques. Currently, the governorate boasts 286 coffee farms with a total of 93,082 coffee trees, of which 63,328 are productive, yielding approximately 33,216 kilograms of coffee annually.

The cooperative plays a key role in educating farmers, offering specialized programs and workshops led by agricultural engineers. These initiatives aim to teach advanced farming methods and improve the quality of coffee crops, boosting productivity while preserving the region’s agricultural heritage.

CEO Sayyad also emphasized the association’s ongoing support for farmers. It provides vital resources such as fertilizers, modern equipment, integrated irrigation systems, and traditional farming tools like shovels, plows, and mattocks. These efforts are designed to ensure the success of local agricultural activities and contribute to both the governorate’s and the Kingdom’s economic development.

These initiatives align closely with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which seeks to shift from traditional farming practices to more sustainable development models, driving economic growth across various sectors.
