Lekko Coffee, owned by Matt Ashton, has been thriving since it first opened in Ohio City three and a half years ago. The positive reception to the coffee shop has inspired Ashton to grow the brand and open additional locations.
In 2023, Ashton had plans to open his second location in Cleveland’s Old Brooklyn neighborhood. However, a new opportunity arose that was too good to pass up. Instead of Old Brooklyn, Lekko Coffee has opened a new spot in downtown Cleveland.
New Downtown Location Takes Over Phoenix Coffee Space
The new Lekko Coffee (826 W. St Clair Ave.) now occupies the former Phoenix Coffee space after the latter closed its downtown café last year. After spending a few months renovating the space, Lekko Coffee officially opened this week.
The downtown location will offer the same high-quality coffee, breakfast burritos, and pastries that customers enjoy at the Ohio City shop. A key feature of the new store is its Decent espresso machine, which will showcase coffee from renowned national roasters.
Old Brooklyn Location Delayed, but Still in the Works
As for the Old Brooklyn location at 4298 Pearl Rd., Ashton confirms it’s still in progress but has been delayed. He assures customers that an update will be provided once things are on track.
