Residents of Palo Alto and Milpitas are preparing for a taste of East Coast coffee culture as Gregory’s Coffee, a popular New York-based chain, announces plans to open new locations in these South Bay cities.
According to a report from KRON4, Gregory’s Coffee, a family-run franchise known for its creative coffee drinks and wide range of refreshments, is expanding to the Bay Area. The brand already has a presence in New Jersey, Texas, and Illinois, and now it’s setting its sights on California. The Palo Alto location will be situated in the Stanford Shopping Center, while the Milpitas store will be located at the Great Mall. While the exact opening dates are still under wraps, Gregory’s website suggests both locations could open by early 2025.
René Puerta, the marketing director for Gregory’s Coffee, shared the company’s brand philosophy in a recent interview with Palo Alto Online. He explained that Gregory’s combines a serious commitment to high-quality coffee with a fun, approachable vibe. This is reflected in the unique name (noting the deliberate omission of an apostrophe) and the playful drink names like the “Fall Oat Boy” and “Purple Rain.”
Gregory’s Coffee is also known for its distinctive drinks, such as the “Biscotti Testarossa,” a latte with hazelnut and almond flavors topped with orange mascarpone cold foam, and the seasonal favorite “Blue Dream,” a mix of oat milk, blueberry syrup, and butter pecan vegan cold foam. The brand aims to make specialty coffee accessible to everyone, offering milk alternatives like oat and almond milk at no extra charge and roasting blends with beans sourced primarily from Latin America.
