Brick Road Coffee, located at 4415 S. Rural Road, Suite 10 in Tempe, opened in late 2021, driven by a personal journey of purpose and self-reflection for its founder, Hagen.
“The COVID-19 pandemic gave many of us time to reflect, and for me, it led to a shift in direction. I transitioned from the finance and banking world to fulfill my desire to serve my community by opening a local coffee shop,” Hagen explained. “Coffee shops have always been my refuge—a place where people connect and find community, often when they can’t find it elsewhere.”
The design of Brick Road Coffee is intentional, creating a welcoming space for people from all backgrounds and personal journeys. The core of the shop is built on fostering a sense of community. Recently, with the acquisition of a local roasting company, the coffee shop aims to bring locally roasted coffee to a broader audience while expanding its role as a venue for community events.
Hagen added, “My goal was to build a place where people can come as they are, without fear of judgment. The most rewarding part has been watching friendships and connections form within our space.”
