Bad Ass Coffee has officially opened its first location in Sarasota County. The Hawaiian-inspired coffee shop welcomed its first customers on January 14, located on University Parkway in Lakewood Ranch.
Owned and operated by local entrepreneur Michael Miller, who also runs Bad Ass Coffee in Center Point at Waterside, the Lakewood Ranch location marks a significant milestone for the brand.
“Opening Bad Ass Coffee in Sarasota is a dream come true,” Miller said in a statement. “From our convenient location to the signature coffee ice cubes in our drinks, there’s nothing else quite like Bad Ass Coffee Lakewood Ranch.”
The café offers coffee made from beans sourced from the Kona region of Hawaii, along with a range of beverages including teas, smoothies, and breakfast and lunch items. The store also features bakery goods and sells Bad Ass merchandise in a setting that evokes the spirit of Hawaii, with surfboards and natural wood décor.
To foster community engagement, the new location is offering its space for free from 6 to 8 p.m. on weekdays to local organizations, businesses, and social groups. Additionally, the café will provide free delivery or curbside pickup for local businesses.
