Sunshine House Coffee is celebrating its fifth anniversary, marking five years of serving warmth, kindness, and a sense of community in the heart of Jourdanton. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and personal touches, this beloved coffee shop has become a local haven, where customers feel more like family than just visitors.
Owners Audrey McCleary and Kelli Hindes created the space as a tribute to Audrey’s late children, Madison, 18, and Tanner, 11, who tragically passed away in 2017. Both children were deeply involved in extracurricular activities at Jourdanton ISD. Audrey fondly recalls how she and her daughter Madison would joke about one day opening a coffee shop together. Audrey would sing “You Are My Sunshine” to Madison and Tanner, saying the two were the sunshine in their home.
