A cozy café on Sterling Road has become the realization of a dream for Monika Novakova and Tomas Vitmajer, an engaged couple who have captivated the local community with their rustic spot, Coffee By Joy.
What started as a far-off dream has quickly transformed into a beloved neighborhood hangout, thanks to its warm atmosphere, high-quality drinks, and inventive baked goods.
Originally from the Czech Republic, Monika and Tomas’s love story began in Toronto, eventually leading them to pursue their dream of opening a café together. “Having our own café was just a distant dream for a long time,” Monika shared with blogTO. “In the summer of 2024, as we started thinking about ways to own a home while doing something we love, the idea of a café began to take shape.”
Tomas added, “Monika and I have free spirits and many skills. To be happy, we need constant motivation. That’s why we decided to turn the café idea into a reality and dedicate ourselves fully to it.”
