World of Coffee Dubai 2025, held from February 10 to 12, shattered records, with coffee selling for over $10,000 per kilogram at auction. Attendance reached more than 17,000 people, marking a 30% increase from the previous year.
The event, which took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre for its fourth edition, hosted nearly 2,000 companies, including more than 130 new participants.
A highlight of the event was the first-ever Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) Specialty Coffee Auction, which took place on February 12. The auction featured 16 lots from 11 producers across nine countries, with six different coffee varieties. Eleven of these lots were Geisha coffee.
The top-selling coffee came from Panama’s Finca Sophia farm, which sold for $10,020 per kilogram. A Kona SL 34 lot from Hawaii also made history, selling for $910 per kilogram—eight times the previous record for Kona coffee.
Bolivia’s La Llama beans, produced by Los Rodriguez, became the most expensive Bolivian coffee ever sold, fetching $350 per kilogram. A new Ethiopian coffee record was also set, with a lot from Gesha Village Oma Natural selling for $1,100 per kilogram.
The top three bids all came from the Geisha variety. Finca Sophia’s second lot sold for $8,614, while Finca La Mula’s Geisha coffee went for $2,620.
