The Daily Grindz, a new coffee shop on Classen Boulevard, celebrated its grand opening earlier this month, offering a fresh spot for students to hang out and enjoy their daily coffee fix.
A Passion for Small Businesses Drives the Opening
Owner Nella Castillo, who grew up working in small coffee shops, has always had a passion for the coffee shop culture. After finding the perfect location last September, she felt it was the right time to open her own business and share her love for coffee with the community.
The Name Behind The Daily Grindz
When it came to naming the shop, Castillo turned to her partner, Kennedy Brooks, an OU alum and former football player, for advice. Brooks suggested the name “The Daily Grindz,” inspired by the OU Daily, and reflecting the idea of “a college student’s daily routine.”
