The price of coffee in Kosovo has reached its highest increase in the last 10 years, continuing to rise year after year. The cost for a kilogram of ground coffee has now hit 12.90 euros, a rise of 5.80 euros per kilogram compared to 2014, when the price was only 7.10 euros. According to data from the Kosovo Statistics Agency, the average price of coffee increased from 7.10 euros to 11.56 euros per kilogram between 2014 and 2023.
This price increase was also evident in September of this year, when coffee prices reached 12.90 euros per kilogram, as reported by KosovaPress.
Alongside coffee, the prices of other products have also risen. According to KAS, the overall harmonized index of consumer prices increased by an average of 0.2% in September 2024 compared to the same month in 2023. This is largely attributed to higher prices in various categories, including financial services (up 13.9%), coffee, tea, and cocoa (up 10.4%), household goods (up 7.2%), and clothing (up 4.4%).
