Swedish coffee supplier Löfbergs has acquired the remaining shares of Danish coffee brand Peter Larsen Kaffe, taking full ownership of the business. The deal, for an undisclosed amount, gives Löfbergs complete control of Peter Larsen Kaffe, a company it first invested in back in 2002.
Since Löfbergs’ initial investment, Peter Larsen Kaffe has grown significantly, increasing its market share fivefold and becoming one of Denmark’s leading coffee brands, according to a Löfbergs spokesperson.
Claus Bertelsen, who has served as CEO of Peter Larsen Kaffe since 2004, will step down in July. “With Claus staying on until the end of July, we have time to find his successor,” the spokesperson said. “Together with our talented Danish team, we are fully committed to strengthening our presence in Denmark.”
Löfbergs markets coffee under the Peter Larsen Kaffe brand in Denmark, serving both retail and horeca (hotel, restaurant, and café) accounts. The company’s Danish operations account for around 15% of Löfbergs’ total sales and employ more than 60 staff.
