Kafeology, a locally owned coffee and pastry shop designed to foster community, is set to open in Midland this spring. The shop will offer freshly brewed coffee, a variety of pastries, and quality coffee beans.
Ehsan Kourjani, the owner of Kafeology, has always been passionate about coffee. While studying interior design in college, he began working in the coffee industry at the age of 16. After spending several years in the field, Kourjani took a break from coffee shops to attend seminary.
Originally from Iran, Kourjani converted to Christianity at the age of 22, a decision that led him to leave his home country. “I lived in England, where I studied at a Bible College with the Church of England,” Kourjani shared. “After finishing seminary, I faced a choice—enter full-time ministry within the church or take my ministry outside of it. I chose the latter.”
Kourjani sees his work as a way to build community and believes opening a coffee shop is the perfect platform to bring people together. “My art is about creating connections,” he said. “What better way to do that than with a coffee shop?”
