El Tigre Coffee Roasters, a new coffee shop in San Antonio’s historic downtown district, has officially opened its doors. Located at 123 Heisman St., directly across from The Espee, the shop offers high-quality coffee and specialty drinks, including lattes, espressos, drip coffee, teas, and more.
One of the shop’s signature drinks is the mushroom cacao, which is said to have a flavor similar to a chocolate chip cookie. In addition to its coffee offerings, El Tigre has introduced a new food menu. Early customers can enjoy barbacoa or chicken tinga tacos served all day, as well as avocado toast, ricotta jelly toast, and a selection of pastries.
During the lunch rush, the menu expands to include hearty options like pulled brisket with a coffee rub, fresh-made chicken sandwiches, and more.
Owner Tatanka Guerrero shared his philosophy on the shop’s approach to coffee. “The coffee world has evolved with many specialty options, but we wanted to focus on delivering a simple, high-quality cup of coffee,” Guerrero said. “Our goal is to keep things simple and great, from the coffee to the food, and make it as enjoyable as possible.”
