The City of Birmingham’s Historic Preservation Authority has selected Alicia’s Coffee to operate the newly reopened coffee shop at the historic A.G. Gaston Motel. This Black-owned business, founded by Naimah Alicia Elmore and Rashad Harrell, is dedicated to serving ethically sourced coffee while fostering meaningful community connections.
“We congratulate Alicia’s Coffee on their new opening at the A.G. Gaston Motel,” said Nathaniel Bagley, chairman of the Historic Preservation Authority. “We always appreciate new businesses opening in our great city, and we embrace your efforts for a bright and happy future in this historical site. Best wishes for a prosperous collaboration with our city.”
Founded in 2020, Alicia’s Coffee was created with the mission to serve communities through organic, responsibly sourced coffee and acts of service. Guided by the principle “Coffee is a connection,” the brand aims to foster relationships and give back to the community. Alicia’s Coffee offers three signature blends—Brazilian, Costa Rican, and Colombian—each known for their unique organic flavors.
