West Virginia Wesleyan College is teaming up with Stone Tower Brews to bring locally roasted coffee to campus starting in the fall semester of 2025.
The new café will take over the former Sunny Bucks location on the first floor of the Benedum Campus Center. A smaller version of the popular Main Street Buckhannon shop, the campus location—dubbed “Stone Tower Coffee”—will focus on serving high-quality, West Virginia-roasted coffee.
Vice President of Student Affairs Alison Whitehair emphasized the importance of the collaboration, stating, “This new partnership between WVWC and a downtown Buckhannon business is something students have been asking for. A coffee shop on campus isn’t just about serving coffee — it’s about creating a space where students can connect, recharge, and find inspiration.”
Student Senate President Sadie Nichols, class of 2025, expressed her excitement about the long-anticipated project. “I can’t even begin to describe the anticipation, elation, and pure excitement I finally get to share with the Wesleyan community,” she said. “As Student Senate President for the past two years, I had the unique privilege to be part of a hopeful idea that has now become an exhilarating reality. I’ve been eagerly waiting for the day we can walk across campus with a fresh cup of coffee in hand and ask, ‘Where have you BEAN all my life?’ Well, my friends, that day has officially arrived!”
The addition of Stone Tower Coffee aims to enhance student life by providing a welcoming space for studying, socializing, and enjoying locally roasted coffee right on campus.
