Coffee culture is thriving, and Morgan Deane is embracing it with The Garden, a new café that opened in Parkwest, Mallow, in early January. Just two months in, business is already booming.
“We are only open a short time, but things are going really well,” Deane said. “We brought in Cork Coffee Roasters because we wanted something established, smooth, and consistent. People are loving it.”
Deane expressed gratitude for the warm support from the Mallow community and fellow business owners, which has made the transition into entrepreneurship smoother. “My partner Jack, a secondary school teacher, is from Castlemagner. I’m from Turners Cross, and Mallow has been so welcoming. The local support has been incredible.”
The café has quickly built a diverse customer base. “We already have regulars of all ages—new mothers, schoolgirls on Fridays, and corporate workers who love the coffee,” Deane said. “A real community is forming.”
Focused solely on coffee and confectionery, The Garden is designed as a destination for coffee lovers. “Coffee is the main character here,” Deane explained. “I put a lot into the interior—it’s quite feminine, with lots of pinks and florals. Women love it, but since we serve a bold, rock-and-roll-style coffee, men are coming in too. There’s plenty of light and loads of fake flowers, creating a unique vibe.”
With its stylish ambiance and high-quality brews, The Garden is quickly becoming a staple in Mallow’s growing coffee scene.
