Wandering Bean Coffee Co. is now open at its new downtown Toledo location, taking over the space formerly occupied by The Flying Joe coffee shop at the intersection of Summit Street and Jefferson Avenue.
The coffee shop began its soft opening this week and is excited to officially join the vibrant downtown community. The shop will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Wandering Bean’s new address is 215 N. Summit Street, Suite C. The coffee shop shared its enthusiasm for joining many other great businesses in downtown Toledo on its Facebook page.
Previously, Wandering Bean operated a food truck and a brick-and-mortar location in west Toledo. However, the company closed the west Toledo location in November due to “building issues.”
Wandering Bean takes the place of The Flying Joe, which closed its downtown location in January. Becky Ohm, owner of Flying Joe, cited low sales, staffing challenges, and competition from other coffee shops as reasons for closing the Summit Street location. The Flying Joe still operates in Perrysburg.
