The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival officially launched on March 9, featuring a coffee and OCOP (One Commune, One Product) trade fair in Dak Lak’s Central Highlands province. The event boasts 435 pavilions from 180 domestic and international exhibitors.
Truong Cong Thai, Vice Chairman of Dak Lak’s People’s Committee, emphasized that the festival aims to promote Vietnamese coffee, particularly Dak Lak and Buon Ma Thuot coffee, while fostering investment, trade, and tourism connections. He stressed the importance of positioning Buon Ma Thuot as a global coffee city.
The trade fair serves as an opportunity for businesses and investors to display exceptional coffee and OCOP products, exchange knowledge, and establish partnerships. It also provides a platform for businesses and farmers to stay informed on new trends and technological advancements in coffee production, working toward sustainable industry growth.
Thai highlighted the event as a key effort in promoting Dak Lak’s coffee, especially Buon Ma Thuot coffee, as a globally recognized brand. He called on both domestic and international businesses to join efforts in making coffee a cultural symbol connecting people worldwide.
The festival, running from March 9-13, promises 17 major events celebrating Vietnam’s coffee culture and industry. Key highlights include a 15-minute fireworks display on March 10, and the Light Festival on March 12, featuring 500 drones in a stunning night-time light show — a first for the festival.
The Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival aims to highlight Dak Lak’s rich coffee heritage, vibrant local culture, and economic potential, further solidifying its reputation as a dynamic, investor-friendly destination.
