Baba Java Coffee Expands While Supporting Global Coffee Producers

by Jessica

Baba Java Coffee, a local coffee shop with a global mission, is dedicated to not only serving exceptional coffee but also supporting the communities that produce it.

Founded in 2016 by Joshua Parvin and Brad Haynes after a transformative trip to Oman, Baba Java aims to foster a deeper connection between coffee drinkers and coffee producers. The café opened its first location in Hoover in 2019 and has since reached several milestones, including becoming the official hot coffee provider for the 2022 World Games. In March 2024, Baba Java opened a new location in Homewood.

Some of the café’s signature offerings include the Maple Brown Sugar Latte and single-origin pour-overs, which highlight the diverse flavors of different coffee regions. On Wednesdays, customers can enjoy Yemen coffee, a rare treat in the U.S. that showcases the origins of coffee.
