The prestigious three – Michelin – starred restaurant, Noma, has introduced Noma Kaffe, a novel filter coffee subscription service. The beans for this offering are sourced and roasted by Noma’s team based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Unveiled on March 6th, Noma Kaffe will dispatch two 250 – gram bags of meticulously hand – picked beans to subscribers each month. These selections are made by Noma’s Head Sommeliers and Roasters. Alongside the coffee deliveries, the Noma team will also share engaging stories and in – depth knowledge. This is aimed at enabling subscribers to fully savor and understand the unique coffee choices. The monthly subscription comes with a price tag of US$65.
On Noma’s official website, the establishment stated, “Over a decade ago, we embarked on a journey to make coffee an indelible part of the dining experience at Noma. After spending years collaborating with outstanding roasters and devising a brewing method that complements our menu and its rhythm, we ultimately questioned: Why not handle every aspect ourselves?”
Coffee has been an integral element of the Noma restaurant experience for quite some time. Back in 2013, the restaurant joined forces with World Barista Champion Tim Wendelboe to curate a coffee service tailored to its menus. Looking ahead, the coffee served within the restaurant will be roasted at the Noma Kaffe roastery.
The original Noma restaurant was founded by Rene Redzepi in 2003. In 2023, Redzepi initially announced that the restaurant would close by the end of 2024. However, this closure was postponed. Presently, it is reported that Noma will remain operational until 2025 to make room for the test kitchen, Noma 3.0.
