CEE, a Belgian enterprise dedicated to fossil – fuel – free industrial production solutions for roasting and drying, is making a strategic foray into the United States and Canada. At the helm of this expansion in the Americas is Jeff Juneau, based in Seattle and formerly a vice president at the Starbucks Coffee Company. He has been appointed as the company’s first managing director for the Americas region.
CEE has disclosed its intention to spearhead “net zero coffee production” by forging partnerships with other manufacturers and roasting companies throughout the Americas. In an announcement regarding its overseas expansion, the company stated, “By fusing European cleantech know – how with local industry insights, CEE is set on developing scalable, fossil – free solutions. This initiative is designed to expedite the transition towards sustainable, energy – efficient production across crucial American industrial sectors.”
CEE has a notable track record in Europe. It was a crucial collaborator in the development of the Beyers Koffie roastery in Belgium, where its electric machinery was linked to renewable energy sources like solar or wind power. Additionally, the company has crafted customized industrial roasting and production solutions for renowned entities such as chocolate – maker Barry Callebaut and Belgian roaster Ray & Jules.
CEE asserts that it provides “the world’s first industrial continuous zero – emission roasting technology” applicable to products including coffee, cocoa, and nuts. The firm also claims that “the majority of the top – 20 roasters across the EU and Americas have engaged” with it. However, DCN has not been able to verify these statements.
Juneau, who most recently held the position of vice president of global engineering and supply chain, now has the responsibility of fostering continued engagement in the U.S. and Canada for CEE. In the announcement, Juneau remarked, “CEE is revolutionizing how industries tackle sustainability. By offering scalable, game – changing solutions, it significantly curtails the reliance on fossil fuels in production processes. I’m thrilled to lead CEE’s operations in the Americas and collaborate with industry leaders who share our dedication to a net – zero future.”
