East Lansing, MI – Haraz Coffee House, a Yemeni franchise, will hold a soft opening on Sunday and a grand opening on Monday, March 18, at its new location in East Lansing.
Haraz CEO Hamzah Nasser sources the coffee served at his franchises from his family farm in Yemen. The beans are packed and shipped overseas, then roasted and packaged at the company’s Dearborn headquarters before being distributed to locations nationwide.
The Dearborn-born franchise has over 10 locations across the country and is rapidly expanding, with plans to open more in college towns in the future.
According to shop owner Dina Elhout, Haraz stands out from other local coffee shops due to its unique ingredients, techniques, and recipes. “The coffee beans are authentic and premium-quality, and the ingredients we use are also from overseas,” said Elhout. “The flavors and techniques are what set us apart.”
Haraz takes pride in creating a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for its customers. Elhout noted that the East Lansing location is particularly student-friendly, with tables featuring outlets and USB ports for laptop use. “We also have tables for those who want to relax and socialize,” she said. “The space is large, warm, and inviting, with plenty of natural light.”
In addition to coffee, Haraz offers an espresso bar, iced refreshers, baked goods, and desserts. The East Lansing location will open at 7 a.m. daily, with closing hours to be determined.
