Filipino coffee chain Pickup Coffee has declared an extended collaboration with Caltex, the petrol station operator. Caltex, a subsidiary of Singapore – based petrol behemoth Chevron Corporation, runs 630 petrol stations throughout the Philippines. Currently, the small – format coffee chain Pickup Coffee has five coffee trucks operating within Caltex’s network, located in Quezon City, Pasig City, Makati, Cavite, and Caloocan City. The new agreement is anticipated to substantially expand this partnership.
Francis Flores, the CEO of Pickup Coffee, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Pickup Coffee is thrilled to partner with Caltex. This partnership reflects our commitment to working together to deliver exceptional value to our customers. We are excited about the possibilities this collaboration holds and eagerly anticipate the positive impact it will have on the customer experience.”
Pickup Coffee was founded in March 2022 by Jaime Gonzales and Diego Lorenzo. Its first outlet opened in Bonifacio Global City in June of the same year. This value – oriented coffee chain offers espresso – based beverages starting from ₱50 ($0.89), with a maximum price of ₱100 ($1.72). It has emerged as one of the fastest – growing coffee chains in Southeast Asia, reaching the significant milestone of 300 stores in December 2024.
For Caltex, partnering with Pickup Coffee is an integral part of its strategy to develop its non – petrol retail business. The move aims to attract more foot traffic to its stations and enhance the overall customer experience. Caltex has already established robust retail partnerships with several coffee chains across its global petrol station network. These include Chao Doi in Thailand, ZUS Coffee and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Malaysia, and Seattle Coffee Company in South Africa. This latest partnership with Pickup Coffee in the Philippines is set to further strengthen its non – fuel retail portfolio in the region.
